Jacob appears in one episode as Kyle Dawson 

Set in the fictional West Midlands town of Letherbridge, the soap follows the lives of the staff of both an NHS doctor’s surgery and a university campus surgery, as well as the lives of their families and friends.

Ed comes from a medical family and grew up in a competitive household, where his siblings were also high achievers. He’s intelligent and industrious, but always worries that he’s not quite as good as everyone else around him. He was engaged to Nina at medical school, but ran away from her with just weeks to go before the wedding. He couldn’t deal with the pressure of the expectation from both of their families on the marriage, and he began to feel trapped by it all. He left with no warning and no explanation, which is something that has followed him through his life and subsequent relationships.

Kyle is Michael’s long lost son. Naïve, trustworthy and content with life. He’s happily married with his first child on the way… but this change in Kyle’s family circumstances brought back his long-ignored feelings of loss at never knowing his own dad. So he found his dad on the internet and organised a meeting. Kyle was excited to find out that he came from such a rebel father who is nothing like him. Michael is a different person altogether. Kyle must separate the two before he can decide if he needs a dad in his life and, more importantly, if his child needs a granddad.
