Robin Cousins – Winter Olympics 2022

Robin is part of the BBC’s commentary team for their coverage of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. 

Hosting in Beijing with some events in Yanqing and Chongli, the 24th Olympic Winter Games took place this February and featured 2871 athletes in 109 events across 15 disciplines. 

Having previously commentated for the BBC on the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea, Robin won the gold for men’s figure skating at the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics in an incredibly close-run contest against East German competitor Jan Hoffman.

Robin is also won gold at the 1980 Figure Skating European Championship, is a multi-time World Professional Men’s Figure Skating champion and was inducted into the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 2005.

He also held the Guinness World Records for longest Axel jump and longest back flip on figure skates.
