We are delighted to announce Bethan Cullinane will be appearing in the lead role of Innogen in the RSC’s Cymbeline directed by Melly Still. She will also be appearing as Guildestern in Hamlet directed by Simon Goodwin and King Lear directed by Gregory Doran in their 2016 season.
Cymbeline is a ruler of a divided Britain. When Innogen, the only living heir, marries her sweetheart in secret, an enraged Cymbeline banishes him. But a powerful figure behind the throne is plotting to seize power and murder them both. Innogen embarks on a dangerous journey that will reunite Cymbeline with a lost heir and reconcile the young lovers. Melly Still directs Shakespeare’s rarely performed romance.
The season will open on 12th March in Stratford upon Avon, and culminates with a limited season at the Barbican in October until December 2016.
