Damien Walsh – Myth: The Rise and Fall of Orpheus

Damien will be performing as Theseus in the rock musical Myth: The Rise and Fall of Orpheus at The Other Palace in London for a limited 8-day run.

This modern retelling of the legend of Orpheus and his journey to the Underworld began life as 27: Rise of a Falling Star which ran for 6 weeks at the Cockpit Theatre in 2016. This new run, directed by Arlene Phillips, is at the request of Andrew Lloyd Webber as part of his vision to have workshops of original productions open to the public and for theatre producers scouting for their next breakout hit.

Myth focuses on addiction and mental illness in society through the lens of the music business with story beats that echo the tragically short lives of Jim Morrison, Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain

Jenny Gayner – Gangsta Granny

Jenny is starring as Ben’s Mum in David Walliams’ Gangsta Granny. Following a national tour  in the Spring and Summer of 2017 and a West End transfer to the Garrick, this award-winning Birmingham Stage Company production is going back on tour starting on the 22nd of March at Hertford Theatre and ending at the Theatre Royal, Nottingham on the 15th of July.

Gangsta Granny is also having a short 2-week run in the West End at the Garrick Theatre starting on the 14th of August until the 26th.

Every Friday young plumbing enthusiast Ben (Tom Cawte) is sent to stay with his boring Granny (Louise Bailey) by his Strictly Come Dancing-obsessed parents (Jenny Gayner and Jason Furnival), a situation he finds dull and dreary, exacerbated by the fact that it seems the only food his Granny ever serves him is variations on cabbage. However, this all changes when Ben discovers his Grandma’s dark secret, that she is a notorious jewellery thief. With this new perspective on his Grandma, the two of them hatch a plan for the ultimate heist: the stealing of the Crown Jewels from the Tower of London.
